Monica Brammer
I
have worked with textiles since I learned to embroider, knit, crochet
and sew as a child. I grew up in a family that was always creating in
art, craft and music. After 30 years looking at the wonderful patterns
seen under the microscope, I have the time to explore my creativity using textiles, fibres, paint and anything that strikes my fancy.
My work has shown in the lower mainland and Alberta.
Currently, I am the Newsletter editor of the Vancouver Guild of Fabric Art, a member of The North Shore Needle Arts and a member of FibreEssence.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My passion is textures, patterns, using surface manipulation to create something new and the puzzle of putting it all together--- making something that did not exist before. I am very interested in using the body in motion as another dimension to art.
