Heather Specken
I have been involved in the Fibre
Arts for 25 years. I had started with sewing and
knitting my own clothing with store purchased materials. I
progressed to spinning fibres
into beautiful yarns that I incorporated into my knitting and
weaving. I now hand paint and dye most of my yarns to get just the
right colour or shade.
I have taken intensive spinning, weaving and dyeing courses in the US and Canada. I sell my garments in galleries throughout BC and Alberta and attend special juried sales.
My passion is working with colour. I particularly like doing scarves and shawls because they can make a whole outfit pop without breaking the budget!
