My embroidery has a strong traditional
background as I have completed a Master Craftsman program in crewel
embroidery from the Embroiderersf Guild of America along with numerous
workshops and projects in most embroidery techniques. In addition, I
have completed City & Guilds of London Part 1 Creative Embroidery
and Design with Julia Caprara and the Opus School of Textiles.

As my work evolves, I am focusing more
on fashion items in the form of wearables and accessories. I like to
merge the more contemporary techniques with the traditional, using a
palette of threads of different textures, colours, or contrasts of shiny
versus matte finishes and matching these with backgrounds of various
surfaces.
My work has been exhibited in various galleries in the Lower Mainland area of Vancouver, in England and in the US.
I love to instill a passion for embroidery and textiles in others and
have been seriously involved with North Shore Needle Arts and the
Vancouver Guild of Fibre Arts, as well as assisting in forming
Arrowsmith Needle Arts. I am also a member and Treasurer of
fibreEssence.
